It’s back! And no, I’m not talking about Pumpkin Spice Lattes. It’s a special time of year In Walt Disney World. Specifically, Magic Kingdom. autumn colors and pumpkin decorations take over Main Street USA. It’s Halloween of course. And if you really are looking for that pumpkin spiced beverage, you can still pick one up at the Main Street Bakery. For those of us that want to skip the long queue waiting for your morning cup of joe, you can find wonderful Halloween inspired treats all over the Walt Disney World properties. The best place to look is Goofy’s Candy Company located in Disney Springs. If coffee and sweets aren’t your thing, and you like your snacks more on the salty side, stop by any of the popcorn carts near Main Street and pick up an order of popcorn in a limited edition Oogie Boogie popcorn pail. They do go fast, so don’t wait.

Moving on from snacks, stop by your resort’s gift shop or any of the gift shops in the parks and check out all of the awesome Disney Halloween souvenirs. The options here are endless. And if you happen to be a lover of all things “Nightmare Before Christmas,” this time of year is right for you! Jack, Sally, and all of their friends are abundant in the park gift shops as well as the Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories in Disney Springs. You can also find, Mickey Mouse and all of his friends dressed up in Halloween costumes at any of those same souvenir shops.
Don’t forget to catch Boo to You! This amazing Halloween themed parade runs right through the heart of Magic Kingdom. It is, without a doubt, one of the best parades Disney has to offer. Seriously, most parades are a good chance to jump in a shorter queue of some of the more popular rides. You’ll want to see this parade more than once during your stay at Magic Kingdom. There is one downside to watching Boo to You. You will find yourself singing the song, long after the parade is over. A long time after! You will be staring at the breakfast menu deciding on links or bacon, and you will still be enjoying the song. It is a great parade and an awesome song however, so I have a feeling you won’t mind.
I’ve definitely saved the best tip for last. For a small price, purchase tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. They close Magic Kingdom early to anyone not in possession of tickets to the party. Only during the party can you enjoy trick-or-treating around Magic Kingdom. They do provide everyone with a small bag to collect candy. The bags are on the small size and fill up fast so bring a bigger bag from your room. Or just strip the pillow cases off of your pillows and use those! Don’t worry, I won’t tell your dentist. Also, don’t forget to check out the Fire Station on Main Street USA and collect your limited edition Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom trading card. This card is only available during the party and changes every year. Never heard of Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom? Check out Walking Down Main Street and look for the “Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom” blog for more information. The best reason to purchase tickets to the party are the queues for rides…or lack thereof. The lines are ridiculously short if not non-existent! We rode more rides during the party than we did during the entire day. Rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train were about a ten minute wait, where normally it’s over the 90 minute mark. It is definitely worth the price to do at least once.
Even if Halloween isn’t your thing, or you are a bit squeamish, it’s still a great time to book your next trip to Walt Disney World for this once in a lifetime experience!
