Have You Ever Visited Tom Sawyer Island?

Nestled and almost hidden in the heart of Frontierland surrounded by the Rivers of America in the Magic Kingdom you’ll find Tom Sawyer Island. Reminiscent of the era of Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer in the backwoods of Missouri, this hidden gem has a lot to offer for all ages.

Tom Sawyer Island is only accessible by a wooden log raft. Once you cross the river, you will be absorbed in the island’s frontier atmosphere. Explore winding trails, scramble up hills, cross a suspension bridge and even a barrel bridge. Hang on because when one person bounces on the barrel bridge everyone goes along for the ride!!

Visit Harper’s Mill with a working waterwheel. Let your child’s imagination (or your own!) run wild at Fort Langhorn with its pioneer stockade fences and hidden caves. The island is a self-guided walking tour with maps throughout to help you find your way.

Grab a seat and enjoy quiet time while watching the bustle of Frontierland across the banks of the Rivers of America as the Liberty Belle passes by on her voyage around the island.

Located on the island is Aunt Polly’s, a counter service restaurant that is open seasonally. When open, you can purchase snacks and a few lite lunch selections including a peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut and banana sandwich. You can also bring your own snacks or lunch and grab a table at Aunt Polly’s.

Tom Sawyer Island is a perfect place to let your kids’ burn off some pent up energy as they explore freely throughout the island. It’s a refuge for adults to catch some relaxation on benches or rocking chairs strategically placed in the cool shade of the trees.

Stay as long as you like!

Guests must be ambulatory; there is no wheelchair/ECV accessibility. Tom Sawyer Island usually opens around 11 AM and closes at dusk.
