For many families, their Disney trip planning revolves around Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. And, with good reason! This special event, held on select nights from late August to November 1, offers up tons of Halloween fun! There are special character meets, a wonderful nighttime parade, tons of trick or treat trails, plus a spectacular 360º fireworks display.
Here is a quick overview of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party:
This party is a 'hard ticket' event held on select nights from the end of August until November 1 at Magic Kingdom. Tickets are purchased separately from regular park admission and are required to enter the park once the party officially starts at 7:00 p.m. Ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 p.m. Those without party tickets will be escorted out of Magic Kingdom at 7:00. Ticket holders get a special party wristband. Some parties, especially the ones on or very close to Halloween, will sell out.
What is so special about this event? First of all, there is Trick or Treating throughout Magic Kingdom. Several Treat Trails are set up and guests walk through them receiving handfuls of candy from each station. Adults, as well as children are encouraged to participate. We have had so much candy that it was hard to carry home! Every party guest receives a small bag especially for Trick or Treating.
Second, there are rare character meets, like Jack Skellington and all Seven Dwarfs. You can also take advantage of special Photopass opportunities that appear every year. Get your photo with the Headless Horseman or the hitchhiking ghosts!!
Don't miss the Boo to You Halloween Parade with the Headless Horsemen leading the way. Your favorite Disney characters appear in costume PLUS there are creepy and fun performers as well.
My personal favorite part of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party has to be the spectacular Hallowishes fireworks show. Standing in front of Cinderella's Castle, you will feel like the show is all around you!!
In recent years, a stage show was added to the party featuring the witches from the classic Disney movie, "Hocus Pocus." This movie has a huge following and the show pays homage to those unforgettable characters.
Finally, a limited number of tickets are available for the parties, making lines for attractions short.
