Guests at Walt Disney World can now use a brand new transportation option available at participating Walt Disney World Resorts called “Minnie Van™ Service”. These cute (red with big white polka dots!) Minnie Mouse inspired Chevy Traverse vehicles have room for 6 passengers and come with two car seats (if needed) at no additional charge. There are currently 2 lift vans that are also available to accommodate ECV’s (Electric Conveyance Vehicle) which can accommodate 3 guests.
To use the Minnie Van™ Service, you will opt in to use the service on your “My Disney Experience” app when you arrive on Disney property. Don’t worry if you decline the service and then decide you want to use the service later. A cast member at the front desk of your resort will reset the link for you. Walt Disney World has partnered with Lyft ride sharing service to arrange the Minnie Van™ Service from your smart phone.
The service is very easy to use; you just enter the location you are being picked up at and the location on Disney Property that you want to go to. You need to make sure you select the Minnie Van™ Service as there are also other Lyft vehicles that are available. All of the Minnie Van™ drivers are Disney Cast Members and have been with the company for a year or longer. The app will show you how far away your van is and the estimated drop off time and will provide the van number that will be picking you up.
Here are some need to know basics of the Minnie Van™ Service:
Flat rate of $20.00 (includes up to two child seats for free) per trip.
Service is only available at this time at Walt Disney World deluxe resorts. You must be a registered guest of that resort. The van will take you anywhere on Disney property (that includes McDonald’s or a convenience store if requested)
You use the Lyft app on your phone to request where the van is to pick you up and drop you off. Unless you need the lift van you will call 407-828-3500 for assistance.
Park pick up locations at the parks are currently as follows (subject to change):
Magic Kingdom – bus stop #11
EPCOT – at the bus loop location
Animal Kingdom – bus stop #17 (wait behind the line and van driver will meet you there and walk you to van)
Hollywood Studios – bus stop #28
Disney Springs - near House of Blue’s and Cirque du Soleil area and the old bus stop at Market Place
We truly enjoyed the Minnie Van Service. For Resort to Resort trips, it's very convenient. The driver was helpful and friendly and we felt like VIPs!!
