If you are looking for a fun alternative to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom, check out The Pirate's League in Adventureland. It's about half the price and just as much fun. This experience is great for both girls and boys. The First Mate, Empress, and Mermaid packages start at $44.95 and go up from there if you decide to purchase outfits during your experience.
During our last Disney World Vacation, we surprised both of our kids with reservations at The Pirate's League. My son picked the First Mate package that included facial makeup, Sword and Sheath, Bandana, Earring, Eye Patch, Pirate Tattoo, Pirate Bag, Unique Coin Necklace, and a Customized Pirate Oath. He even received a Pirate name! The cast member that took care of him was awesome. She spoke like a true pirate and made jokes with him the entire experience. Although my son is shy, she brought him out of his shell and had him talking with her.
My daughter, who is a 100% GIRLIE GIRL, picked the Mermaid package and was thrilled. The Mermaid package included Mermaid Makeup application, Mermaid twist hairstyle, color changing hair clip, necklace, and bracelet, Nail polish and a Mermaid sash. When she was done with the makeover, our daughter was given a bag with the nail polish and brand new makeup from the Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique! That alone made her day! The makeup wasn't too heavy and she didn't have hairspray in her hair. (I’d recommend this for girls who do not like the heavy hairspray and makeup you may find at Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique)
In my opinion, the atmosphere at the Pirate League was a wonderfully decorated pirate salon and the details of the artifacts and treasures around the salon are on point.
As a family, we give The Pirate League an A+! Great experience and worth every penny! If you are considering going, reservations do open 180 days in advance and you'll want to pick a time that is convienient with meals and fastpasses.
