There were a lot of exciting updates from Disney Parks this week! Here’s the scoop!
Walt Disney World Events
The Epcot International Festival of the Arts opened on January 18, 2019 and runs through February 25, 2019. The festival celebrates art, music and also includes some artistic takes on dining with several booths lining the World Showcase Lagoon. (pictured below: guests paint a mural at the 2018 EPCOT Festival of the Arts).
Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration has begun at the Magic Kingdom Park. The celebration of Disney’s original couple is highlighted by the new Move It! Shake It! Mouskedance It! Street Party. There is also new entertainment, merchandise and food and beverage offerings. The celebration runs through September 30, 2019.
Tickets for H2O Glow at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon are now on sale. This special even runs on Thursday and Saturday nights starting on May 30, 2019 through August 24, 2019. Guests can enjoy the park beginning as early as 6 PM until 11 PM.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets are now on sale. The party runs on select nights at the Magic Kingdom Park from August 16, 2019 through November 1, 2019.
Walt Disney World Resorts
Disney’s Riviera Resort is now taking reservations for stays beginning in December of 2019. The resort is Disney’s 15th Disney Vacation Club resort and is inspired by the Mediterranean coastline between France and Italy. An all new rooftop restaurant titled Topolino’s Terrace (Topolino is Mickey Mouse’s Italian name) will open alongside the Rivera Resort and will feature French and Italian dishes, nighttime views of Epcot or Hollywood Studios, and a character breakfast.
Reservations are now open for the all new Toledo – Tapas, Steak and Seafood restaurant inside the Gran Destino Tower of the newly renovated Coronado Springs Resort. This rooftop restaurant will serve tapas, steaks, seafood and desserts. The restaurant is set to open in July 2019.
Baby Giraffe Born
It’s a boy! Masai, a giraffe calf was born on Kiliminjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom Theme park early last week.
