Walt Disney World
To help celebrate the upcoming live action “The Lion King” movie, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will debut “The Animation Experience” at Rafiki’s Planet Watch beginning on July 11th. Guests will learn to draw such classic characters as Simba, Pumba, Timon, and Zazu and each session will be different. The new attraction will be FastPass + eligible.
“Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!” debuts on June 14th at the American Gardens Theatre in Epcot. The Guardians and their alien band will perform a number of 70’s and 80’s tunes five times throughout the day. Guests can also try some new limited-edition snacks including: The Space Sandwich (Barbecue Pulled Pork topped with crispy onions); the Awesome Mix Plate (French fries topped with pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato); and the Cosmic Cupcake (chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream and cosmic sprinkles). If all that grooving makes you thirsty, enjoy an Awesome Mix Slushy (frozen blue raspberry, strawberry, and lemonade); an I Am Root float (root beer float), or a Destroyer Punch (orange, pineapple and lime juices with grenadine (Adults can enjoy it with a splash of cherry bourbon).
A new “Imagination Pink” Magic Band has been spotted at the Magic Kingdom. This is the first in a series of new hot pink pieces set to be released throughout the park in the near future.
A new Toy Story 4 pop-up experience opened on June 11th at Disney Springs. Guests can play the new Toy Story Drop! mobile game, take a picture with “the claw” and more. The experience runs through August 9th and is located near Paddlefish restaurant.
Disneyland
Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Theme Park can now experience a tasty brunch on Saturdays and Sunday. Dishes include French Toast, Potato Flautas, Lamplight Chilaquiles, Avocado Toast, and a tasty brunch burger. Kids can get their own version of the brunch burger, along with breakfast quesadillas, French toast, and omelets.
In anticipation of Pixar’s Toy Story 4, guests visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Theme Park will be treated to some new experiences. The fun includes a new meet and great with Bo Peep, a special sneak peak of the film at the Tommorowland Theater, and tasty new snacks such as Bonnie’s Root Beer Float, Carnival Cake, and the Loop-de-Loop: A horseshoe shaped sundae made up of vanilla ice cream, strawberry and raspberry sauce, and a fruity cereal churro.
“Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular has returned to Disneyland, just in time for summer. The beloved nighttime spectacular made its debut for Disneyland’s 60th anniversary and will again enchant guests along Main Street U.S.A. for a limited time.
“Tale of the Lion King” has debuted at Disney California Adventure park. The Storytellers of the Pride Lands, led by your narrator Mwongozo (Swahili for “Guide”) will perform multiple times daily at the Palisades Stage.
Disney Cruise Line
The Disney Wonder will go into dry dock this summer. Then, beginning with her maiden voyage on September 30, 2019, the Disney Wonder will feature The Princess and the Frog on board! The update will include a new family lounge with trivia, character meets, and other activities in the day along with live music and imaginative specialty drinks in the evening. The teen only lounge, Vibe and adult only lounge The Cove are also set to receive a refresh. Clients wishing to experience the new enhancements can do so on a number of itineraries, including summer sailings to Alaska as well as voyages to the Mexican Riviera, Caribbean, and Bahamas. Starting on February 7, the Wonder will set sail from its new home in New Orleans.
