There’s a lot of news from Disney Destinations so let’s hop right to it!
Walt Disney World
Reservations are now open to the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location at Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa and Resort. Opening day is August 6th for this location, which will have Fairy Godmothers-In-Training transform guests into the princess or knight of their dreams! This location is perfect for guests with dining reservations at 1900 Park Fare or the Perfectly Princess Tea Party, both located inside of the Grand Floridian.
All Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations will also introduce a new Carriage package which features a specially themed t-shirt on August 6th. In addition, four new customizable hairstyles will be offered starting on this date, as well as additional accessory options such as spirit jerseys, Minnie Ear headbands and Magic bands.
Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-STYLE or online through the My Disney Experience app.
Another new dining experience in Epcot has been announced. Opening later this year, Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will replace the current Liberty Inn. The last day of operation for Liberty Inn will be July 8.
New water fountains have been installed inside of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Lounge in Tomorrowland. The fountains include a new bottle refill station.
New fabric covered strollers are being tested out at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. The strollers are more compact and lined, unlike the current plastic offerings from Disney. The cost for a one-day rental is $15 or $13 per day for length of stay visits.
A number of entertainment options have been announced for guests visiting Walt Disney World for the July 4th holiday.
Magic Kingdom:
· Kermit, Piggy, Sam Eagle and other Muppet friends will live out famous moments in American History as “The Muppets Present…Great Moments in History”. The show runs regularly through out the day in Liberty Square near the Hall of Presidents.
· A DJ will spin tunes at the Hoedown throwdown in Fronteirland and Galactic Gathering in Tomorrowland.
Epcot
· Illuminations will feature a special Fourth of July finale titled “The Heartbeat of Freedom” immediately following ”Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.“
· The Voices of Liberty will perform inside the American Adventure rotunda at 2 PM and 3PM on July 4th. They will perform outdoors on the American Gardens Theater stage at 5:30, 6:45, and 8 PM on July 4th.
· Characters will meet and greet guests at the American Adventure dressed in “Spirit of 76” costumes.
· July 4th treats will be available for purchase throughout the park in honor of the holiday.
For guests unable to visit the parks on July 4th, Disney Parks will have a Live Stream of “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” live from Magic Kingdom Park at 9:13 PM ET on July 4th. Guests can watch by visiting www.disneyparksblog.com
Disneyland and California Adventure
Pixar Pals Parking Structure will open on Sunday June 30th in Disneyland adjacent to the current Mickey & Friends Parking Structure. The new structure will add 5,000 spaces to the west side of Disneyland and will help eliminate traffic jams with new entry lanes and an electronic inventory system. Additional enhancements will be coming in the fall when pedestrian bridges are added to guide guests from Pixar Pals, through the Downtown Disney district and to the main park entrance to Disneyland.
The encore run of “Soarin’ Over California” has been extended at Disney’s California Adventure Park through August 31st, 2019.
Aulani
Two new programs have been introduced at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa on the island of Oahu in Ko’Olina, Hawaii.
The Underwater Explorers program is a two-hour experience where guests who are not certified in scuba diving can learn the basics of equipment, safety, and diving procedures in a controlled, man made lagoon. The programs is designed for guest ages 10 and up and includes use of a wet suit, fins, and mask; a flask and Rainbow Reef ID, and a video of the experience for a cost of $189
The Rainbow Reef Fish Feeding Experience will give guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with the reef’s many tropical fish. An animal programs biologist will give a brief introduction and guests will have an opportunity to feed the fish. The cost for this program is very reasonable at 47 per person for the 15-minute experience.
