Disney News Roundup


As always, there's a lot of Disney news so let's jump right in!


Happy Birthday to our favorite mouse couple Mickey and Minnie who celebrated on November 18th! In celebration, Disney released a brand-new poster ahead of the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad, the first attraction at a Disney theme park based upon the big cheese himself and his lady love. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Spring 2020 and the Disneyland park in 2022.



Walt Disney World

In honor of the animated classic Cinderella’s platinum anniversary, guests attending eight select Disney Early Morning Magic events at the Magic Kingdom will receive some royal enhancements to their morning. Guests will be invited to meet with Cinderella’s royal friends Suzy, Perla, Fairy Godmother, Drizella, Anastasia and Prince Charming. In addition, the normal breakfast held at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café will enjoy Cinderella themed food and beverage offerings.


The Cinderella enhancement will be held select dates from February 11, 2020 to March 3, 2020. Early Morning Magic is a separate admission event and regular park admission is also required. The cost is $89 for adults and $79 for children.

Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort can take advantage of a special ticket only option. The popular Walt Disney World 4-Park Magic Ticket includes a one-day admission to each of Walt Disney World’s main theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests can also add on a one-day admission to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, or the NBA Experience Tickets start at $89 per day and have a 7-day usage window. Tickets cannot be combined with a Walt Disney World travel package. We highly recommend working with one of the fabulous Coasters and Castles Vacation Specialists to book this special ticket offer.


Walt Disney Travel Company is proud to partner with Margaritaville Cottages Orlando and offer guests wanting to Waste Away packages that can be coupled with tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort. Cottages range from one to five bedrooms, perfect for guests looking for home like accommodations. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) recognized Disney with four Brass Ring awards for immersive products and atmosphere entertainment.

Best Hard Good’s Item: Personalized Light Saber’s created by guests at Savi’s Workshop


Best Visual Merchandising: The custom astromech units built by guests at the Droid Depot that interact with the land


Best Plush: Interactive Porg from the Creature Stall


Best Atmosphere: Green Army Men Drum Corp from Toy Story Land


RFID chip card readers and slowly being transitioned into various locations at the Walt Disney World Resort. The RFID readers have been available at resort hotels for several years, but not within the parks themselves. They have now been added throughout Epcot and are expected to be available throughout all parks in the near future.


Disneyland



Let It Glow”, a display of bright, bold, and colorful trees opens at the Downtown Disney District in Disneyland on November 22, 2019. The trees and surrounding vegetation will be lit solely by bright, fluorescent lights. The display runs through January 5, 2020.


After months of intermittent down-time, the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland park are now fully operational on both tracks. Guests enjoying this iconic attraction can again see Fantasyland and Tomorrowland as they head down the slopes.


Adventures by Disney

Guests looking to experience one of Adventures by Disney’s magical River cruises can take advantage of some special savings. Now through December 20, 2019 guests can save $400 per person on select River Cruise departures. Guests looking to extend their stay can also save $250 per person on pre- or post- cruise Escapes. This special offer is available for travel between May 1, 2020 – October 31, 2020 and availability is limited.
