Disney Parks News – March 1 – 7, 2019

If you haven’t heard, Disney announced opening day for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will me May 31, 2019 at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA and August 29, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL. The opening will occur in two phases. Phase one will include the opening of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run along with unique and exciting food and beverage offerings and Star Wars merchandise opportunities.


No dates have been given for Phase Two. However, we do know that it includes the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The opening will occur later in 2019 at both parks.

Walt Disney World

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival began it’s run on March 6th and will run through June 3, 2019.


The most beautiful time of year at Epcot features intricate Disney character themed topiaries; exhibits on “how-to” garden; unique garden themed tours; special kids exhibits and activities including an interactive playground and butterfly house; the daily Garden Rocks! Concert Series; and Outdoor Kitchens serving up unique, flavorful, and sustainable dishes and drinks. Admission to Epcot is required to attend and some experiences have a separate fee.


New Mickey Through the Years refillable mugs have been spotted throughout Walt Disney World. Among the images that can be spotted on the mugs are the Mickey Mouse Club Logo, a Mickey Ear Hat, a Mickey Mouse Premium Ice Cream bar, and Mickey’s House from the old Toontown Fair. Refillable mugs cost $18.99 plus tax and are good for the length of your Walt Disney World Resort stay.


Disneys Beach Club Resort

Cabanas have been added to Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort. Cabanas can be rented for a half or full day and there is a six-person maximum. Each cabana will have a dedicated server offering cocktail service. The cabanas are equipped with a mounted TV, complimentary sunscreen, a fruit tray, a mini refrigerator stocked with soda and water, plush towels, a safe, and charging stations. Prices begin at $149 for a half day and $249 for a full day and will vary depending on the season. A Cabana can be reserved by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.


Bollywood Beats, an all-new musical experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park began this week. The show takes place several times a day on a newly built stage across from Up! A GREAT Bird Adventure.


Disney Junior favorite Fancy Nancy will soon be greeting guests at Animation Courtyard inside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. Nancy will also soon joint the lineup at the Disney Junior Play N Dine breakfast at Hollywood & Vine restaurant. Sofia the First will be exiting to make room for Nancy at both locations.


A third location for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has been announced at Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel and Spa. In addition, the Magic Kingdom location will begin renovations this spring to add more chairs to its location inside Cinderella’s Castle.


Disneyland

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa has been announced. This delectable three-course breakfast runs Thursday through Monday from 8 AM to 12 PM at the elegant Napa Rose restaurant. This magical experience begins on March 30th and reservations can be made now by calling 714-781-DINE (3463) or by visiting the Disneyland Resort website.


Jessie’s Critter Carousel will open in April of 2019 at Disney’s Pixar Pier inside Disney’s California Adventure Theme Park. The re-themed carousel replaces King Triton’s Carousel of the Sea.
