There's a ton of Disney news this week, so let's get right to it!



Walt Disney World


Effective February 27th guests visiting the Walt Disney World have a new delicious dining plan that can be enjoyed as part of their Walt Disney World vacation package. The Disney Dining Plan plus option offers guests the flexibility to use their daily credits in any combination at either a quick-service dining location and/or a table service location of their choosing. Guests also receive two snack credits per person per day as well as a refillable resort mug for beverages. Effectively, this means guests can enjoy two sit-down meals per day if they wish. Guests can also use two credits per person for Signature Dining experiences.


There’s still time to take advantage of up to 25% off savings with Disney’s Sun ^ Fun promotion. Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort between April 1 and July 9, 2020 can take advantage of this promotion and save on their vacation packages. This promotion is limited and subject to availability and must be booked by July 9, 2020.

Florida residents can take advantage of a special 4 day Discover Disney ticket. Guests can visit any 4 days through June 30, 2020 with no blockout days. Tickets may be used consecutively or non-consecutively within this time frame. Tickets ae $195 per person plus tax and proof of Florida residency is required.




Dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party have been announced for 2020. This fun hard ticketed event includes “Mickey’s Boo to You Parade,” “Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular” fireworks hosted by Jack Skellington, the “Hocus Pocus Villains Spectacular”, exclusive character meets, merchandise and party exclusive food offerings. Tickets start at $85 with guests saving $10 with advanced purchase. This year’s dates are:


August 13, 18, 21, 25, 28

September 1, 4, 7, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29

October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31

Spaceship Earth, the icon of the EPCOT theme park will begin re-imagining of its ride on May 26th. The ride is expected to be down for an extended overhaul, re-opening on or near EPCOT’s 40th anniversary in 2022.


Guests looking to partake in some enhanced activities during their vacation can enjoy a number of new and returning activities that are set to debut this spring at some of the Walt Disney resort hotels.


The Chocolate Workshop Presented by The Ganacherywill treat participants to the delectable world of chocolate. This hands on workshop hosted at Disney’s Riviera Resort will teach guests how to properly taste chocolate, observe how to make ganache and make their own chocolate truffle pops. Workshops will take place on Sundays at 11 AM beginning in March and will cost $60 per person plus tax.


The popular Mermaid School returns, allowing guests age 4 and over to live out their mermaid dreams by participating in fun pool activities while wearing a mermaid tail, just like the Little Mermaid herself, Ariel. Classes start on March 1 and will be held at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort. Classes are $55 per person plus tax.

Crockett’s Craft Corner allows guests to make their own rustic sign at Trail’s End restaurant at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds. The class takes place on Wednesdays and costs $75 per person. This event is open to guests ages 8 and up and includes light refreshments.


Guests looking to add some extra activity to their visit are invited to partake in a number of Resort Fun Runs offered at numerous Walt Disney World Resorts. The runs range from 1.2 – 1.8 miles and are held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, and Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The cost is $15 per person and includes a custom bib, a finishers prize and snacks.

Captain Hook and his pirate pals are taking to the seas once again as part of Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Children ages 4-12 can partake in an epic adventure around Crescent Lake while searching for treasure and enjoying a feast fit for a pirate! The cost is $55 per person plus tax. Reservations can be made by calling 407-825-KIDS


The re-imagined Disney Shorts Theater will open on March 4th with an all-new feature titled Vacation Fun starring Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The experience will be available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park.


Guests looking for a unique souvenir or gift can now create customized t-shirts (long and short sleeved) at MADE an extension of the current D-Tech on Demand locations at Walt Disney World. Creations will be available for pick-up and delivery to resort hotels within hours. MADE is now available at the Marketplace Co-op location at Disney Springs and Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom, but will be expanding to other locations later this year.

Disneyland


The Disneyland resort has been named one of the winners of the 2019 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards in recognition of its environmental efforts and ongoing commitment to water conservation and the use of technology to drive efficiencies in water use. Amongst the initiatives that Disneyland has incorporated are the planting of water-savvy plants in its landscapes

Disney Cruise Line



Disney Cruise Line has announced new itineraries for Summer 2021 including Greece and other European destinations via the Disney Magic. The Disney Wonder will head back to Alaska and the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream will visit the Bahamas and Caribbean. Sailings for Summer 2021 are now available.
