As always, there is a ton of news to report on so let’s get right into it!


Walt Disney World


Reservations are now open for three new experiences that are part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, opening on August 29th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.


  • At Savi’s Workshop, guests can build a custom light saber. A $199 credit card deposit is required to hold the reservation. This experience allows for two total guests per reservation.

  • At the Droid Depot guests can build their own droid. Guests will choose an R-series (as in R2-D2) or a BB-Series (as in BB-8). The completed droid will interact with various elements throughout Galaxy’s Edge. This experience allows for two total guests per reservation.

  • At Oga’s Cantina guests can enjoy both adult and non-alcoholic refreshments. Guests can book up to 180 days in advance.

For all three experiences, there will be limited walk up reservations. Guests can cancel up to one day prior to the reservation without penalty. Reservations can be made at Disneyworld.com or on the My Disney Experience app.




Contemporary Christian artist Lauren Daigle has been added to the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, part of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. Lauren will perform three times per evening on September 9th and 10th at the America Gardens Theater in World Showcase.


Disney has announced that Beatrix, a Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (A Chicago based restaurant group) will be opening its first Florida based location in Disney Springs. The menu will feature a number of healthy options including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. A bakery and full-service bar will also be a part of the restaurant. More details will be forthcoming as the opening day approaches.


A number of spontaneous character interactions have been confirmed at various Walt Disney World resorts. Meets include:

  • Chip and Dale can be found around the lawn at Wilderness Lodge

  • Chip and Dale can be found playing lawn games at the Contemporary Resort

  • Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on the lawn outside of the Great Ceremonial Hall.

  • Pooh and Tigger have been spotted on various sidewalks at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Mary Poppins can be found my the main pool topiaries. Alice and the Mad Hatter can be found near the Mad Hatter Tea Party pool.

  • Daisy, Minnie, Donald and Goofy can be found around the pool area at the Boardwalk Inn and Resort.

Guests are encouraged to check with your resort as there is no schedule for these meets and they are subject to change or end without notice.


Disneyland

2020 Disneyland packages are now available for booking. Packages are the best way to customize your resort stay, tickets, dining and other experiences into one. Resort stays can be booked at one of the official Disneyland Resort hotels or participating Disneyland Good Neighbor hotels.


Six new locations have added mobile ordering as an available option. Guests utilizing the Disneyland app can now order from:
