As always, there's a lot of news to share so let's dive right in!
Disney Parks
Disney has announced that menus across the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Theme Parks will begin offering plant-based options for those looking for healthy, fresh and flavorful options that meet their diet needs (or those who just love their veggies!) Amongst the dishes announced were Steamed Asian Dumplings at Le Cellier in Epcot; Felucian Garden Spread at Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios; and Chili Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl from Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Many more options will roll out during the remainder of this year and into 2020.
Disney Springs
A new Instagram worthy wall debuted at Disney Springs, featuring everyone’s favorite Orange Bird. The wall can be found just around the corner from Erin McKenna’s Bakery.
Epcot
Isabella Rossellini and Marlee Matlin have been added to the list of Candlelight Processional narrators. Ms. Rossellini will be the narrator on December 8 -10. Ms. Matlin will be the narrator on December 27-28.
As part of the International Festival of the Holidays, running from November 29- December 30, 2019, a Cookie Stroll has been added. Guests will be able to enjoy cookies at five of the Holiday Kitchens along World Showcase and earn matching stamps for their passports. Upon obtaining all five stamps, guests will get a Santa Mickey Sugar Cookie at the Holiday Sweets & Treats Location. The collectible treats are:
· Bavaria Holiday Kitchen: Linzer Cookie
· American Holiday Table: Gingerbread Cookie
· Yukon Holiday Kitchen: Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie
· Feast of the Three Kings: Chocolate Crinkle Cookie
· L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen: Black and White Cookie
Disney has announced the dates for the 2020 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. The most beautiful time of the year at Epcot blooms from March 4 – June 1, 2020. Guests can enjoy fresh and local dishes at the Outdoor Kitchens, enjoy a concert as part of the Garden Rocks Concert Series, partake in gardening demonstrations, and take in the sites of numerous themed topiaries and flower displays.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney announced that Mickey Shorts Theater will be opening in the Spring of 2020. The new attraction will take over the current Path of the Jedi seasonal space.
Disney’s Wide World of Sports
College basketball fans can take in some of the country’s best teams as part of the Orlando Invitational, set to be played November 28 – December 1, 2019. 12 game passes range from $130 - $150 per person. Single game tickets will go on sale in October.
Disneyland
Disney announced the opening of the Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. The luxurious respite is set to open in the Spring of 2020.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney has announced initial early 2021 itineraries on Disney Cruise Line, including more sailings out of New Orleans, as well as select sailings out of Galveston, Texas and San Diego, California. Florida will continue to have numerous sailings out of Miami and Port Canaveral on the Disney Dream, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. Bookings will open to the general public on October 3, 2019.
