If you want to get in the holiday spirit there’s no better way to do it then to head to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party held on select nights at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. This separately ticketed event is the perfect way to enjoy some holiday cheer.
As soon as you pass through the turnstiles, you are transported to a “winter” wonderland. The Magic Kingdom is covered with garland, wreaths, poinsettias and twinkling lights once it gets dark. The highlight is the gigantic tree at the entrance of Main Street U.S.A.
There is plenty to enjoy at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party from meeting rare and beloved characters in their holiday best, to delicious holiday treats, to merry dance parties and of course, a magical firework spectacular. But the best part of the party, in my opinion is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.
The parade runs twice per evening at 8:30 PM and 11:00 PM. The route runs through Frontierland, Liberty Square and around the hub to Main Street U.S.A. Watching the parade makes you feel like a kid, no matter your age. From floats of characters to dancing gingerbread men, reindeer, and my favorite the toy soldiers, there is so much to take in and enjoy. I highly recommend grabbing a hot chocolate or warm apple cider and a complimentary cookie of your choice while you watch and enjoy this cozy and very merry event! (P.S. You might get caught in a little Florida snowstorm if you’re lucky and the best part is there is no shoveling!)
