Favorite Things: Holiday Edition

Throughout the holiday season, we will be sharing some of our favorite things. Things to do. Things to see. Things to eat. Things to give. We hope you enjoy this series!

The holiday displays found at the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts this time of year are some my favorite things to see each year.  Each park and/or resorts celebrates a different theme so you never see the same thing twice.

The Magic Kingdom decorates the train station and Main Street, USA all the way up to the castle.  The garlands wrap the balconies and the streets are lined with wreaths hanging from the light poles.  Cinderellas Castle is draped in icicle lights and gets lit by Queen Elsa at nightfall.

EPCOT celebrates the Festival of the Holidays.  Each country displays decorations unique to them.  There are also food booths celebrating some seasonal foods from around the world.  The American pavillion is decorated for the Candlelight processional.

Hollywood Studios celebrates the nostalgia of old time Hollywood.  Vintage decorations line the greens and Echo Lake. Gertie gets dressed in her Santa hat and Sunset Seasons Greetings takes over the projection on the Tower of Terror.

Animal Kingdom got its own decorations for the first time this year.  A new holiday show is being projected on the Tree of Life, Africa, Asia, and Dinoland got some special attention with garlands, wreaths, and lights.

The resorts all receive themed decorations and each one is special and unique.  The gingerbread houses, cabin, and carousel and all famous sites to see.  A lot of times you can smell the sweets before you see them!
