I recently took a girls trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida with five of my girlfriends. We wanted something fun and different for our first night, so we decided to try The Edison at Disney Springs. Our first impression was of a classy 1920s meets industrial steampunk atmosphere.
We were greeted by hostesses in flapper dresses and they seated us upstairs at a large half moon table perfect for the 6 of us. The atmosphere is a “Wow Factor” with all the details of the entire 2 floor restaurant/club. It’s a great date night/girls night atmosphere. Kids are welcome to dine but after 10pm you must be 21 and older to enter. Also, guests arriving after 10:00 PM each night must wear venue-appropriate attire. Men may wear slacks, jeans or dress shorts. Jackets are optional. No ball caps, sleeveless shirts or flip-flops allowed.
Our waiter was really nice and he was dressed in suspenders and fit the 1920s look perfectly. Our food and drinks were very good. I had the Edison Burger for $22 and it was huge! My friends ordered Sun kissed Salmon, Organic Tomato Soup and Gooey Grilled Cheese (yum!), and Menlo Park (mac n cheese), and Roadtbeef and gravy. Everyone liked their food but a meal of Mac n cheese needed a little protein... otherwise it's dinner success!!
A photographer came around and ask us if we wanted a FREE picture so we said yes and when we returned it was a tiny picture but you could purchase a larger photo for $10. We actually did buy the picture because it was a great shot of our Girls Night Evening.
If I could suggest anything, I would say to walk around the entire establishment. There are different seating areas all over the establishment that have their own themed decor. Even the bathrooms cool and they have a giant unisex sink located outside the bathroom door.
I would definitely go back to the Edison with friends or family and I’d love to go in the evening to enjoy the live entertainment that was just starting around 9pm.
