Hot off the Presses - the Latest News for Walt Disney World

Disney's Magical Express for airport transportation will be ceasing operations as of January 1, 2022. Guests have many options now to get to their destination that in light of this shift for ride share and similar services, Disney has made the decision to discontinue Disney's Magical Express.



Disney's Magical Express will continue to be offered for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021.


Complimentary transportation around Walt Disney World property will also continue to be offered. This includes buses, monorails, ferries, and the Disney Skyliner.


 

Coming soon - Guests love extra park time during their vacation. So coming later this year as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels will be able to enjoy more fun with 30-minute early entry into any of the four theme parks every day! The Extra Magic Hours benefit was suspended when the Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and Extra Magic Hours are not expected to return. Through the new early theme park entry benefit, guests will have the flexibility for extra park time while allowing Disney to spread out and manage park attendance. Important note, guests need valid park admission and a park reservation to enter the theme park.

 

Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is closed for refurbishment from January 4th through early April.

 

At the Contemporary Resort, guests with resort reservations beginning April 1st are receiving notice to modify their reservation. Resort rooms in the main tower will be closed for refurbishment beginning April 1st through September 2021.
