Journey to Tennessee (Part 2- 2 more days)

As Tuesday approached and the sunshine joined us we headed to the shuttle bus that for $10 per person round trip brought us to the Downtown Nashville area. As we stepped off the bus I was greeted with a friendly sight. I happen to sing ladies barbershop and there right in from of me was the Barbershop Harmony Society building.

We took a great trek down Broadway and were able to see the very high river and the home of the NFL Tennessee Titans. Sadly we did see some of the rebuilding that is happening where the Christmas Day explosion occurred. As sad as it was we were happy to see the street heading in a good direction.

Nashville is still reopening following Covid which means that some bars and clubs are opening limited days and/or limited hours. We did head straight to Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk first and sat at their roof top bar. After a snack on Ultimate Chicken Nachos and a beverage we decided to wander over to he Country Music Hall of Fame.

The park in front of the Hall of Fame has many stars on their walkway and a great tour for $25.95 with an additional $5 for their Audio tour set. Each time I have been here they highlight a different performer and Kacie Musgraves was this trip’s star. Of course the history of country music and the plaques of all of the amazing hall of famers was magnificent.

Following our journey to the Hall we visited a very special museum for me. Patsy Cline, one of the original county music ladies, has a special museum of her own. She has a great story and for me it brought back memories of my childhood. Her music played throughout our house and I sing “Crazy” to this day.

Off to the John Rich’s Redneck Riviera and ultimately Blake Shelton’s Ole Dog. With five of us around the table we were able to experience the chicken fried steak, meatloaf, cornbread, and hamburger topped off with a Blake-o-Rita.

Another trek up the hill to our shuttle gave us a moment to stop at the Legends Bar and take in the final moments of our Nashville day.

Today we took it a little slow so we could prepare for our journey to Pigeon Forge by having lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant. Great food and atmosphere!!

More on Pigeon Forge after our arrival.
