We Take our Adventure To the Countryside

On our next Adventures by Disney day in England, we left the city behind and ventured into the beautiful countryside of Windsor.

Our coach picked us up early and Sarah narrated our whole trip with interesting tidbits. We saw the spot where King John signed the Magna Carta and, quite close by, stopped at our first activity - longbow archery! We really lucked out and had a sunny, beautiful morning for it.

Our instructor was a long bow champion who made it look so easy! We all loved this activity and the chance to be outdoors doing something fun.

After our archery experience, we boarded our coach to head to Windsor - home of Windsor Castle. The lovely town was brimming with tourists, but we had lots of time to get lunch and shop. My family enjoyed some chicken at Nando's and then did some shopping.

We met back with our group and headed to Windsor Castle for some more history lessons. The Queen was at home on the day we visited and, while we weren't invited in for tea, we did enjoy touring the public rooms. Our guide, Sarah was not allowed inside to guide us but she set us up beautifully outside so we knew what to expect. As is her usual, she had lots of wonderful, personal stories to share with us.

That evening was our adult dinner and Junior Adventurer Night. The kids on our trip went with our Adventure Guides for a picnic dinner and a movie while the adults had a quiet dinner. Since our girls were older teens, they had a choice and decided to stay with us. Our dinner was very good and we had an early evening of since the next morning we would be Paris bound!

Here's another amazing bonus to Adventures by Disney - luggage handling. We were instructed to put our bags outside our rooms at The Landmark early in the morning. The bags were magically transported to our Paris hotel and we did not have to wrestle them onto the train! So easy!!

*If you book an Adventures by Disney trip with older kids, don't worry about them being stuck with little kids. The guides are wonderful at keeping all ages entertained and happy and your teens won't be made to feel out of place at all!
