Jermaine Bell of Jacksonville, Florida was rewarded with a dream trip to Walt Disney World. Jermaine had been saving for a year to celebrate his birthday at Walt Disney World, when Hurricane Dorian hit and caused massive devastation in the Bahamas and parts of the southern US. While visiting South Carolina, he emptied his piggy bank and bought hot dogs, chips, and drinks for residents who were forced to evacuate their homes to the area. Hearing about his selfless act, Disney surprised Jermaine at his home and will be providing him with a VIP trip to Walt Disney World later this month.
The name and additional details on the new Beauty and the Beast themed lounge at the Grand Floridian have been released. Enchanted Rose will be found on the second floor of the grand lobby and will celebrate the splendor of the live-action Beauty and the Beast film. There will be four distinct areas, including a library, a garden room, an outdoor patio and a lounge with a chandelier inspired by Belle’s stunning golden ball gown. Guests will be able to enjoy unique cocktails and shareable bites such as artisanal cheese with pine nut bread, mini smoked short rib sliders, and truffle fries.
Details of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s countdown to 2020 on New Year’s Eve have been announced Guests can enjoy special food, merchandise, and entertainment option; including multiple DJ’s to keep the party going in Asia, Discovery Island, and Dinoland U.S.A. As midnight approaches, guests can gather around the Tree of Life for a special welcome to 2020.
Disney Transportation is rolling out additional character themed buses for Walt Disney World Guests to enjoy. The new characters include Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc, Simba and Zazu from The Lion King, and Moana and Pua from Moana. The buses will feature new seats, laminate floors and USB chargers on some buses.
As of September 8, 2019 a number of closings have taken place at Epcot. Fountain View restaurant, Club Cool, Mickey & Friends Character Spot, parts of Innoventions, and Fountain of Nations have all closed for future updates to the area. The Character Spot has a temporary location across the breezeway to the same building where Joy, Sadness, and Baymax currently meet. The two meeting areas are accessible via different entrances into the building.
An automated PhotoPass camera has replaced the human variety at the Mickey and Minnie greet at the Town Square Theater in Magic kingdom. Time your photos accordingly.
Guests needing a charge to their electronic devices can now visit Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. in the Magic Kingdom. The individual docking bays can be found at the shop adjacent to Space Mountain to the right of the D-Tech on Demand kiosks. The stations are currently complimentary to park guests.
As of February 1, 2020, there will be an increase in the cost of the various fireworks dessert parties held at the Magic Kingdom. Below is a comparison of the current pricing with the new pricing that will begin next year:

Disneyland
Plaza de la Familia Regresa has returned to Disney’s California Adventure theme park, now through November 3, 2019. This beloved seasonal even celebrates the spirit of the Pixar film “Coco” through arts and crafts, delectable Mexican food and live entertainment. “Asi Es!” also returns as part of the celebration, with a cast of storytellers, Mariachi singers, and Folklorico dancers.
