Your Disney, Your Way: The Ultimate Solo Adventure at Walt Disney World

Is traveling alone to Walt Disney World really a good idea? I was nervous too, but here's what I discovered.

Travel to Walt Disney World solo gives you a new perspective on the parks. On my first
solo trip in February, I was a little nervous about the emotions – visiting attractions I
have done with my boys, going to restaurants that I went to on my honeymoon and
dining in restaurants alone.
As a veteran solo traveler, going to WDW was one of the easier destinations I've visited! For the first time, I had unstructured time, where “doing nothing” was an experience. Forget compromising on ride choices or dining – solo Disney means every decision is yours, from re-riding Space Mountain five times in a row to lingering over a quiet meal.
I spent a couple of hours sitting on the bridge between the HUB and Tomorrowland reading and people watching. I took a boat to Fort Wilderness, sat in a rocking chair with a cold beverage and caught up on phone calls. Perhaps the best part was single rider lines – definitely saved time!

Much of what holds people back from solo travel is fear—of loneliness, of danger – but
neither of those happened. WDW one of the safest places to travel alone. You find
yourself striking up conversations with people in attraction lines, at bars at your resort and on transportation. The friendly atmosphere and shared enthusiasm for Disney magic make it surprisingly easy to strike up conversations, whether you're waiting in line or grabbing a drink at your resort.
I actually ran into a Disney influencer that I have followed for years on social media – I saw her outside of Haunted Mansion with her mom (who is often featured on her posts). We took photos together and chatted about her upcoming wedding, and they gave me advice about some of the rides I was a little anxious about (her mom is in her 70s so she had a perspective about where to sit on certain ride vehicles for the best experience).
If you have always wanted to try a solo trip, Walt Disney World is a great place for a first
experience I have two more solo trips planned for 2025, and will continue them for as long as I can travel! Have you ever considered a solo Disney trip? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
