My passion for cruising began in 2009 when after a yearlong deployment to Iraq with the United States Army, my wife and I spent a week aboard the Carnival Conquest to celebrate all the special occasions that we missed during my time away. It was a truly memorable week at sea and one that we attempt to recreate several times a year. One of the best things about cruising is meeting fellow passengers onboard. If single, a couple or even part of a family, cruise lines can offer plenty of chances to meet new people. With all the events held and interaction with other guests, many people have met lifelong new friends and even new loved ones.

For many passengers cruising is all about the ports of calls and I totally agree. Weeks and even months before that cruise of a lifetime many cruisers begin their research on the ship’s various destinations. Cruise lines are now investing even more money into dedicated cruise ports which offer good shopping and entertainment ashore. There are breathtaking beaches with tropical blue waters and grand snow mountains overlooking local villages, that just cannot be beaten. Since leaving the Army in 2017, I have become a commercial airline pilot for a major U.S. airline, and this has brought me to enjoying all-inclusive resorts throughout the world just as much as I enjoy cruising.
