Celebrating a Graduation Magically

What better place for a Disney fan to have some Senior pictures taken that at Walt Disney World?

My daughter, Lydia Dial, graduated from high school in 2016. She had always asked to have some of her senior pictures taken at Walt Disney World, where we had made so many wonderful family memories over the years. So, in the spring of 2015, my family made a trip to Orlando, Florida to celebrate both my daughter's upcoming senior year and my cancer being in remission. For our trip, we purchased the Photopass/Memory Maker and I carried my DSLR camera. We started our trip off at Epcot. Of course, we had to have some pictures in front of the iconic ball that houses Spaceship Earth. We really enjoyed the many beautiful locations around World Showcase for taking memorable pictures.

When going to the Magic Kingdom, we made early morning breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace with the hopes that we would be able to get some pictures in front of the Cinderella Castle without many people in the background. We found a wonderful Photopass photographer and we told her what we were doing. She was so kind and spent so much time with us taking pictures trying to get the "perfect" picture for her in front of the castle. She also made some fun "magic" pictures as well. All the Photopass photographers were helpful and willing to take any picture we asked for but this young lady went above and beyond to help us (wish I had her name).

Of course, the resorts provide endless possibilities of photo opportunities. The Grand Floridian was her resort of choice. Between the beautiful lobby, staircase, and various outdoor locations we made more pictures than I could have imagined. Some of my favorites were made at the Grand Floridian Resort and, of course, Magic Kingdom.

We ended up with many great pictures that she and I were very happy with. There are so many fun places to take pictures both inside the parks and at the various resorts. We chose several of her pictures for her graduation announcements. I am so glad we were able to go spend some time at our happy place! Walt Disney World is a great place to celebrate many life events!!

Lydia will soon be living her other dream of being a Cast Member at Walt Disney World. She was accepted into the Disney College Program for Fall 2018.

Tammie Dial is a vacation specialist for Coasters and Castles Travel and a Family and Consumer Science teacher in Alabama.
