Disney’s Electrical Water Pageant – a Hidden Gem!

One of Walt Disney World’s hidden gems is the Electrical Water Pageant. It surfaces nightly on the waters of Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon in the Magic Kingdom area.

The Electrical Water Pageant is a floating light parade on several barges with 25-foot lighted screens and is accompanied by the most whimsical music that you’ll find yourself humming for days! Watch King Neptune and various sea creatures float by and be ready for a patriotic ending!

The Electrical Water Pageant has been performing since 1971 and was originally created for the dedication of the Polynesian Luau at the Polynesian Village Resort. Since then it has continued to make nightly appearances.

As it makes its way around Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon, the best viewing locations for the show are from the beaches at the Polynesian Village, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness Campground Resorts. You might catch a glimpse of it as you are waiting for transportation to exit the Magic Kingdom or you may find yourself passing by the show if you are using one of Disney’s water transportation vessels on Bay Lake or the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Generally the Electrical Water Pageant starts each evening at 9 PM from the Polynesian, makes its way to the various resorts as noted, and ends at the Magic Kingdom at approximately 10:35 PM. Times are subject to change and are coordinated with the evening Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. Check with your resort’s front desk or a times guide for specific times at each viewing location. Times can vary and are weather permitting since this is an outdoor show.

So grab your favorite Disney snack or your favorite drink, hit the beach, and catch the Electrical Water Pageant! And here’s a little tip..after the parade, you can likely catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach too!
